I am currently the founder & sole-proprietor of Contextics. Our mission is to provide tailored search and text-mining solutions aimed at the advertising space. I was previously a founding member of Overture and then Yahoo! Research Labs, applying information retrieval, natural language, and machine learning techniques to solve immediate and longer term business goals and problems of the company. I have programmed for over 25 years. I gained 7 years of experience in traditional software product development at Digital Equipment (now part of HP/Compaq) and now have 10 years in web-related technology development. In 2001, I received my Doctorate from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. My thesis addressed communication between machine-learning agents. I completed it while working for Professor Mike Genesereth on the Infomaster project at Stanford University.
